Life in Hot Springs

Life in Hot Springs, Arkansas

Hot Springs is nestled in and among the natural scenic beauty of the Ouachita Mountains, the Diamond Lakes and the Hot Springs National Forest. Hot Springs National Park is the only national park located within a city's limits. The historic Bathhouse Row and natural hot springs have drawn people from all over the world for many decades and Hot Springs is still the most poplar destination spot for tourists in Arkansas. The downtown area is full of beautiful historical architecture. Visit the carefully restored Fordyce Bathhouse and take a step back in time.

The Hot Springs area has four beautiful lakes for your enjoyment. Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine both border the city with over 300 miles of shoreline, allowing for homes to be built on the lake. Lake Ouachita is located about 30 minutes from downtown Hot Springs and has nearly 700 miles of undeveloped shoreline (homes are not allowed on the shore of this lake). Lake DeGray is just over 20 miles south of Hot Springs. All of these lakes allow boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing and other activities. Each of the lakes also have multiple parks for picnicing, camping, and hiking.

Hot Springs is often recognized for its cultural offerings and has been designated as a "City of the Arts" being home to outstanding annual art and music festivals, as well as the monthly "Gallery Walk" downtown.

For your enjoyment pleasure Hot Springs also offers full service spa-salons, horse racing, themeparks, waterparks, shopping, museums, botanical gardens, PGA golf courses, minature golf, and more.

Although sounding contradictory, Hot Springs is truly both a vibrant city and a cozy home town. Affordable housing, good schools, good hospitals, family atmosphere, and so much to do, are great reasons to choose Hot Springs as your home town.
